Focus on Gratitude

Focus on gratitude

Focus on Gratitude Today is my 32nd birthday! How I am already 32, I do not know but here I am. Exactly where I want to be. It is so easy to forget all the things you have accomplished and always look ahead to what you think is missing. Back in my twenties I would wish and wish for the life I am living now. Yet I find myself constantly thinking "this" will be better when "this" happens. "This" being; losing weight, the kids getting older, less child care costs, a new job, different house, new [Read more...]

My Not So Perfect Breastfeeding Journey

Breastfeeding

My Not So Perfect Breastfeeding Journey My breastfeeding journey did not go as planned, as I am sure many moms can relate to. It actually caused a ridiculous amount of stress and anxiety, leading me to go see my therapist and just cry about feeding my baby on multiple occasions. When I got pregnant with Olivia, I never thought twice about breastfeeding. I planned to just do it, and pump when I go back to work. Just like a mom is "suppose to do". After my c-section, they put Olivia [Read more...]

My Husband Did The Laundry and it Made Me Cringe

Giving Up Control with Household Chores, aka My Husband Did the Laundry and it Made Me Cringe It was just another Sunday. A Sunday full of meal prepping, cleaning, organizing, and laundry. My husband and I decided to divide and concur. We put on a movie for the kids and decided to go to town for an hour. I was going to do the meal prep and he was going to do the laundry. My husband did the laundry and it made me cringe. Big time. Divide and Concur I know, I know. I should be “lucky” to have [Read more...]

These Are The Days

by AverageHealthyMom 1 Comment

These are the days to remember. These are the days of poop. Everywhere. These are the days of tantrums that make me laugh. These are the days of nighttime routine taking hours. These are the days exhaustion. Complete exhaustion. These are the days of mismatched outfits proudly worn because my 3 year old dressed herself. These are the days of mis-pronounced words, funny sentences, and sometimes swear words spoken so innocently that it’s adorable. These are the days of worrying [Read more...]

How to Time Block for Better Time Management

by AverageHealthyMom 13 Comments
weekly time blocked schedule

The other day I finally threw away the planner I had been carrying around (and not using) for months now! It was so liberating! Not only was it bulky, but I was never using it and would feel guilty/unproductive coming home with another day unfilled. Since I always have my phone, I finally started utilizing the calendar and notes app. Now that the blog is taking up more of my time, it was necessary to come up with a better on the go system so I could eliminate wasted time. Step one to creating a [Read more...]

Current Season of Life

Current Season of Life

My current season of life looks chaotic, messy, full of giggles, and a ton of gratitude. For so long I tried forcing a life that maintained the same predictability. Fitness, health, marriage, friends, job. Then we had Olivia. Everything stayed the same, just busier. Then we had Nolan. Everything stayed the same, just even busier. Nothing gave. My responsibilities increased at work. All the activities, deadlines, chores, drop-offs, pick-ups expanded. The laundry somehow quadrupled with the [Read more...]

Tips for Balancing Life as a Part-Time Working Mom

by AverageHealthyMom 16 Comments
Part-Time Working Mom

I love reading blogs, I can relate to so many mom blogs out there. When I was feeling overwhelmed with going back to work 3 years ago after I had Olivia, I felt so alone. It was hard for me to find anything or anyone that related to my particular situation of working “part-time”, three 11-hour days. I was desperately searching for tips to balance life as a part-time working mom. Luckily for me my husband did both drop-off and pick-up so I had that taken care of. On my plate though? Worrying [Read more...]

Favorite Toys for Ages 0-3+

Favorite Toys for Ages 0-3+

We have gone through A LOT of toys in the past 3 years with our two little ones (3 and 1). With Nolan turning 2 in April and Olivia turning 4 in August I am shocked a lot of the toys have stood the test of time with 4 years of two crazy kids and a dog that can (at times) be unpredictable with what she will eat... As a parent, buying toys that will last multiple years instead of specific milestones is important to my husband and so we can keep clutter away and life simple. The toys I am listing [Read more...]
