Personal Development 101
2 years ago I became a (short-lived) Beachbody coach. I did it for a few months, and while it was not for me, I learned the importance of personal development. The team I was on really pushed for daily personal development and I LOVED it. I never listened to podcasts or audiobooks prior to this, I always found it to be such a waste of time. I started by listening during my work commute (that can range from 35-60 minutes each way). Then I started to listen during chores around the house. Now I take every chance I can to listen to a great podcast!
Where do you find personal development?
You can find personal development anywhere! Podcasts, books, audio books, etc… I love podcasts because it is generally limited to 20-60min, so it is a low commitment compared to a book.
How do you make time for personal development?
There are soooo many ways to fit in personal development. When I am doing “mindless” activities, I am generally listening to a podcast. While I am commuting, shopping, cleaning, walking…always listening to something.
My favorite books and podcasts:
Podcasts: I love self-help materials. Ways to improve productivity, time management, stress management, diet, etc… Now that I am in the blogging arena I am really utilizing all there is out there on working your business. Some of my favorite podcasts include; Shameless Mom Academy, PaleOMG, Fed and Fit, Blissful Bites, Chalene Show (the best to binge listen to!), and Off the Vine (more of a fun one). I am always looking for more, so if you have any suggestions please let me know!
Audiobooks: I spend more of my personal development time listening to podcasts but on occasion I love an audiobook. My favorites include; The Four Tendencies, Its Not Okay, Hands Free Mama, You Are A Badass, 10% Happier.
Do you do personal development? If so, what is your favorite podcast or audiobook?
